The European FP7 project DIADEMS (DIAmond Devices Enabled Metrology and Sensing) and the French regional project SIRTEQ (Science and Engineering for Quantum Technologies in the French region of Ile-de-France) are organising a joint industry-orientated workshop bringing together some of the most prominent stakeholders in the field of Quantum Technologies.

From 26 April to 6 May 2016, the DIADEMS consortium organised a summer school in Cargèse, Corsica, dedicated to the emerging field of quantum sensing technologies. The event, which was hosted by the IESC (Institut d’Études Scientifiques de Cargèse), attracted a total of 60 students from all around the world.
From 28 September to 2 October 2015, the DIADEMS consortium organised a PhD-only School called “Quantum Optics”. The event was held at the premises of project partner University of Leipzip and gathered some 15 students – many of them involved in the DIADEMS project – as well as 9 lecturers.
The programme offered lectures on various topics in the morning, and hands-on experiments in the afternoon, the latter mainly focusing on ion-beam implantation.
The school strongly contributed to teach PhD students numerous technical aspects of NV centres in diamond, such as implantation techniques, confocal microscopy, and many more.
